The CJR Map
BACKGROUND

Are you on the map? Here are three interactive maps that cover the 67 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA's) identified by CMS for mandatory hip & knee bundles in 2016. The maps use hospital compare data to rank hospitals by the two quality measures that influence payments under CJR.

CJR Hospitals by HCAHPS

Are you on the map? Here, hospitals are ranked based on their relative ranking on their HCAHPS (Patient Experience) quality measures. HCAHPS measure the patient experience during the inpatient stay and are reflective of all patient discharges, not just those who have had a hip or knee replacement. The data used are provided from the CMS hospital compare website.

CJR Hospitals by RSCR

Are you on the map? Here, hospitals are ranked based on their relative ranking on their surgical complication rates (RSCR) quality measure. RSCR measures risk adjusted surgical complications following a hip or knee replacement. More information on medicare claims are used to measure RSCR can be found here. The data used are provided from the CMS hospital compare website.

Disclaimer: If no data is shown for readmissions or complications in your area, it may be because you are not a part of the Inpatient Quality Reporting Program, you didn't have enough data to report, or you are part of a larger system and data is being reported by your parent hospital.
